Impressively large, golden flowers with a bronze-red centre sit atop compact, narrow stems. The stems are adorned with dark green, bushy foliage. The blooms begin in June and last all summer and into early fall. It’s tidy, mounding habit grows as tall as it is wide with a max height of 30-35 cm (12-14 in.) and width of 30-35 cm (12-14 in.). It is low maintenance and a real prize-winning variety of coreopsis.
Though tolerant of shade the Gold & Bronze tickseed would rather be in a sunny site in zones 5-9. Use these plants in borders, containers, mass plantings or as a cut flower. Cut the stems all the way back to the base at the end of the season to encourage healthy new growth the following year. The Coreopsis Uptick™ ‘Gold & Bronze’ may invite slugs or snails to the garden but also pollinators like bees and butterflies.
What do you do if you see two snails fighting?
Nothing, just let them slug it out.
